Jill grew up on a hobby farm in Langley where she has had horses since she was 6 years old. At age 10, she got her first pony and began taking english riding lessons from the neighbour (who just so happened to be an Olympic eventer!). At age 11, Jill joined the local branch of the Canadian Pony Club where her passion for learning about horses really took off. At 13 years old, Jill got her first off-track thoroughbred that she successfully evented to the Pre-Training level. By the summer of 2009, Jill had successfully passed her full 'B' Level in Pony Club and attended her first National Pony Club Quiz. She went on to continue her studies and attend National Quiz again in 2009, and International Pony Club Quiz in 2010 and 2011. Jill then focused her attention on university schooling (in a very unrelated field) for several years, but returned to riding and the "horse world" in 2015 when she purchased her second off-track thoroughbred. In addition to attending the Equine Sport Therapy program for the past two years, Jill is also working towards completing her B.Ed to teach high school math.
